Every companion here starts as a page of writing: how they open a conversation, what they notice, what bores them, what they do when you go quiet. Only after that do they get a portrait and a name.
The result is company that has a shape. A dry voice stays dry. A patient one stays patient. Return next week and the thread is where you left it, which is what turns a novelty into a habit.
